I just got a Panasonic Lunix DMC-LZ10 and I can't connect my camera to my PC.. I can't find my camera and usb

I put it in and nothing happens my camera's on and everything... I tried to find my answer by going on other sites but I can't find it... PLEASE HELP!
I can't put my pictures on my computer if I can't find my USB driver... I installed my CD already:) but I don't know if USB Driver 1.0 was installed too.. It is on the cd but I didnt see it or anything... please help! THANKSSS

Panasonic used the MSD/UMS storage protocol. Meaning if your computer is working properly there is no driver needed fro Windows XP, Vista or Mac. The driver is only needed for older versions of Windows (pre-XP)

Did your computer make the usual "bling blum" noise (WinXP) when you plugged it in? It should have and will then show up as a drive in My Computer within a few seconds (maybe 3 minutes the first time). Also restart camera and PC and try other USB ports.

Is your camera in the view mode? It should be on the review screen where you go through your old pictures. Not any other screens, especially the print screen.

Is your USB set up right. Go into the camera's setup (little wrench) menu and search for the USB mode setting. It should be set to MSD, Storage, PC or Access, not Pictbridge/Print.

Some firmware versions will ask what mode you want when you plug it in. Select Access, PC, Computer, Storage, UMS or MSD.

Still nothing, contact Panasonic, or try a card reader (I like them better anyhow). Your PC might already have an SD card slot, in which case slide it in and look in My Computer. You can also buy one from the internet at dealextreme.com for about $2 (4 weeks to ship though).
