SONY psp irshell ir remote help?

I just put the new irshell on my psp the one that is compatible with 5.0m33 and the ir remote has a function to learn the tv remote code, the thing is that if I dont have the right frequency it wont work.. I know the ir remote works i tested it out on my boose ipod dock speakers..
